This post is part of the Annual Special Posts of tokoHow. In this article, you will learn ninety nine (99) productivity hacks that will help you to turn your life around and take your business to tremendous heights.

Let's get to it.

1. Set Up an Alarm to Get Up Early Every Day.

A big part of your success is mastering how to manage your time. What you do within the first few hours of the day can make or mar your day. At first, it might be difficult to break through the jinx but once you get ahold of the a working strategy, your productivity will be quintupled.

In order to seize the day, you have to set an alarm to wake up very early in the day. Be cautious of this so as to not overdo it. If you don't get enough sleep at night, there is practically no way that you will achieve all your goals because nature cannot be decieved. Most successful people wake around 4 to 5 in the morning. You can choose any one that will work for you based on your internal body system, your bed time and daily activities.

Rise with the first sound of the alarm. Don't waste any other minute in bed. For a period of three minutes after the alarm rang, that natural urge to still be in bed will still be there. It will be just a three minutes pain that you can endure. If you manage to swing into action and achieve one or two goals from your to do list, you will experience a surge of energy to complete the rest of the tasks that you have for the day.

In fact, several psychological research had proved that that the more you hesitate to do something, the less likely that you will eventually get that thing done. So move your ass and get shit done. If you constantly find yourself in bed after the alarm goes off, you create the bad habit of lying to yourself. This will create an internal conflict within you which will make it hard for you to make the right decisions in key areas of your life.
Wake up early, wake up fast and the rest of the day will run quite smoothly.

2. Focus on What's Most Important to You

Every day that you wake up, you're likely to get a hundred different "good" ideas. And if you are not careful, you might be tempted to abandon your most important goal to chase after the "good stuff".

And just so you know, this will make your productivity to dwindle because you are entering an entirely different boat. While setting up your agenda (to do list), ensure that those goals with the highest importance occupy the first lines.

Never replace them with what's seemingly "urgent" or those countless good ideas swarming into your head each minute. By all means, understand that I am not in any way trying to persuade you to stay dormant - to not check out other innovative ways of getting stuff done. Far from it. However, if you feel that an idea is good enough, jot it down on your diary. You can act upon it later when you are done with the important stuff.

Stephen Covey, the author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People demonstrated the importance of focusing on the #1 priority first with rocks. He added some small pieces of rocks into a bucket and tried adding bigger rocks later but there wasn't enough space left for them. However, when the big rocks were added first and then followed by smaller rocks, the smaller rocks filled in the cracks and crevices created by the big rocks thereby fitting in. This same thing happens when we first tackle goals with the highest priority.

3. Learn Something New Everyday

The world is changing and quickly too. With these changes comes advancements in technology, health and other areas of human life. In order to be current and adapt to the these changes, you need to go out and open your mind to the sea of knowledge.
Learning new things will help your brain to activate some parts of it that had been dormant. Economically, you will earn more money than  you have been doing previously because it will open your eyes to numerous opportunities that you didn't know that exist.

According to Henry Ford, once you stop learning, you become old instantly even if you just twenty the other day.  To remain on the track of learning, you have to identify the learning style that you are mostly comfortable with. Psychologists had proved that doing this alone can increase the probability that you will understand a concept that you had never imagined that you would. For instance, if you are the kind that likes anything that has to do with math then your method of learning must be analytical and numerical. That way, you can learn so many subjects that repulsed you before.

4. Carefully Identify "The Why" Behind Your Goals.

Most human actions to an extent are driven by motive. It's therefore necessary that to stick to whatever that you are doing, you have to pinpoint the why. Knowing the why will give you the motivation to end what you have begun. The best method to find out why you need to achieve your goals is self questioning.

Most often than not, it needs to thorough and chain-like - frame the answer you got out of the question into another question. By the time that you are on the seventh reason, you must have reached the core reason of your actions. At that time, there is a clarity of purpose. When that happens, you will focus properly on your goals and your productivity will shoot through the roof.

5. Master the Art of Giving

Most people don't know this - the secret to success is not taking but giving. In this millennium, a lot of people feel that they are entitled to stuff. As a result of this, all they think about is how to get more for themselves. This can be good in the short run. But we all know that life is far from being a hit and run experience.
The space between when you were born and when you die, a lot of awful things can happen to you. You will certainly encounter lots of misfortunes in life. During that time, it's those that you helped previously that will give you a helping hand. Be the kind of person that invests in people because it pays the highest dividend.

6. Stop Keeping Score In Your Relationships

Pride had run quite deep into the bone marrow of many people. This is why it's rampant to see people who thinks that they are the only one contributing more to a relationship. However, you should recognize this as a mental deception caused by the "taking" nature of that very person. The contributions of other people are very meagre when compared to theirs - hence they are not grateful. They take people for granted. As a result, they are likely to be in a lot of broken relationships. To achieve your goals, try to avoid the habit of comparing people's contributions.

7. Always Be in the Company of People Who Are Obsessed With Quality

Here's the cold hard truth about life: it gives you back exactly what you gave to it. Therefore, if you give life chaff it will give you back that. This is still true even if you have finally become a millionaire, you will certainly fall when your time is due - and it will be a very thunderous fall.

So, always avoid the temptation of using the short cut to achieve your goals. Don't be seen in the company of people who want that because they are likely to influence you. Instead, stick to doing the best that you can all of the time. And make sure that the people who work with you have the same mindset. This will encourage you to set a high standard for your performance.

How you do anything is how you do everything. Taking this as a principle will help you in order areas of your life. You will find out that you will be less worried. It also helps you to become more confident in yourself and what you can do. The only downside to this is that it might take more time or even more resources but the quality will always be 100 times better.

8. Make Your Source of Income Passive and Let Your Business Run Itself

If you find out that you are at the center of your business and that without you the business will close, you have to reconsider what you are doing. The #1 strategy to financial success and freedom is passive income. You can only identify yourself as rich if the money you get passively from your business is more than what you can possibly spend.

Passive income can only be achieved if you can automate your business (if it can be automated) or you teach others how to do what you are doing. Whatever you do, just try to run your business without you. This will enable to have more time for yourself which you can use to make even more money.

9. Get Yourself Beyond the Point of No Return

One of the most inspiring stories of all time for me is in Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. Here's the excerpt:

A long while ago, a great warrior faced a situation which made it necessary for him to make a decision which insured his success on the battlefield. He was about to send his armies against a powerful foe, whose men outnumbered his own. He loaded his soldiers into boats, sailed to the enemy’s country, unloaded soldiers and equipment, then gave the order to burn the ships that had carried them. Addressing his men before the first battle, he said, “You see the boats going up in smoke. That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win! We now have no choice—we win, or we perish! They won. Every person who wins in any undertaking must be willing to burn his ships and cut all sources of retreat. Only by so doing can one be sure of maintaining that state of mind known as a BURNING DESIRE TO WIN, essential to success. “

This story arguably has the powerful message for those who want to make it in life - never retreat, never surrender. Most people never realize how strong they are until they face a very big challenge which they must overcome or die. If you want something bad enough then you must be willing to get yourself beyond the point of no return. Once you have crossed that line, you instantly know that you can't afford to lose. This will make you to put in everything - body and soul into seeing that succeed in the end. To become a winner, you need to burn your ships and don't look back.
